Germany to produce 60% of electricity from renewable sources in Q1 2024
According to data released by the German Federal Statistical Office on the 6th, the amount of electricity produced and fed into the power grid in Germany in the first quarter of 2024 was 121.5 billion kWh, of which 58.4% came from renewable energy. This is the highest proportion of renewable energy generation in the first quarter since 2018.

Data show that compared with the first quarter of 2023, renewable energy generation increased by 11.6% year-on-year. Traditional energy generation fell by 25.4% in the first quarter, accounting for 41.6% of domestic power generation.

Among them, wind power generation had the largest absolute increase in renewable energy generation, reaching 5 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 12.0%. In the first quarter of 2024, wind power generation was 46.8 billion kWh, accounting for 38.5% of the total domestic power generation.

The absolute increase in photovoltaic power generation ranked second, reaching 1.4 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 21.0%. The total power generation of photovoltaic power generation was 8.1 billion kWh, accounting for 6.6% of the total power generation.
