The European Commission proposes to abolish three tax exemptions for Chinese PV manufacturers

According to sources familiar with the situation, the European Commission has proposed to cancel China's three solar panel manufacturers to enter the European market duty-free concessions, because these manufacturers have violated the relevant conditions of suspicion.

This three companies respectively (Canadian Solar), artix listed in London China Renesola energy and Sheng new energy (ET Solar). Three companies need to submit written opinions on March 20th, after the party can hold a hearing. The European Commission is expected to the end of April or early May to make a final ruling.

As for other Chinese manufacturers that have not been granted duty-free treatment by the EU, punitive tariffs average 47.7%.

According to a sampling survey of 121 companies that received duty-free treatment, the European Commission said there was reason to cancel the tariff concessions for the three companies. One of the sources said eight companies had been sampled.

The European Commission also said the three companies failed to report sales data on demand, or offered rebates that essentially reduced the minimum price, or sold more products to customers.
