The world's largest single photovoltaic project was successfully connected to the grid in Xinjiang
According to reports, China Power Construction Group Co., Ltd. recently announced that the second section of the 3.5 GW photovoltaic project in Midong, Xinjiang, which it undertook, was successfully connected to the grid. The moment the circuit breaker was successfully closed, the world's largest single photovoltaic project record was refreshed.

China Power Construction said that the photovoltaic project is located in the northern desert of Midong District, Urumqi City, covering an area of about 200,000 mu, with an installed capacity of 3.5 GW. The installed capacity of the second section of the project undertaken by Hebei Engineering Company is 1.5 GW. After the project is completed, it is expected to have 1,740 hours of annual utilization and an annual power generation of 6.09 billion kWh, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 3 million Chinese households. The electricity generated by this photovoltaic project is enough to meet the annual electricity demand of countries as large as Luxembourg and Papua New Guinea. According to reports, Luxembourg, with a population of 650,000, will consume about 6.6 billion kWh of electricity in 2022.
