On May 2nd local time, the online platform for "rooftop photovoltaic" subsidy applications launched by the Greek authorities officially opened, and eligible individuals can start submitting applications. The Greek Ministry of Energy stated that this plan will benefit thousands of households and farmers in the country.
For households, the subsidy ratio for photovoltaic systems ranges from 45% to 75%. For farmers, the corresponding subsidy ratio is 40% to 60%. Meanwhile, for household users, the total subsidy amount for solar cell systems can reach 1.6 euros, while for farmers, the maximum subsidy amount can reach 10000 euros. For disabled individuals, their spouses and their dependent members, single parent families, and families with three or more children, special bonuses can be granted, with an additional 10% increase in subsidy.
It should be pointed out that a basic condition for submitting the application is that the applicant has signed a connection agreement with the Greek distribution network operator DEDDIE, but the photovoltaic station has not yet been connected.
The Greek Ministry of the Interior stated that the submission and approval of applications are directly, quickly, and automatically completed, without the need for cumbersome paperwork. Applicants only need to complete their application by using the DEDDIE electronic platform and their TAXISNET code. The application system will remain open until available resources are exhausted, with a maximum deadline of the end of June 2024.
Each natural person can submit an application for a single residence (primary or secondary residence) with active electricity supply. Farmers can submit multiple applications, depending on the number of agricultural power suppliers they have, and can also submit an application for their residence.
The total budget of the plan is 238 million euros, funded by the EU's Recovery and Resilience Fund, and allocated as follows:
-Special care will be given to vulnerable families, with a special allocation of 45 million euros;
-Allocate 100 million euros to households with an individual income of less than or equal to 20000 euros or an income of less than or equal to 40000 euros;
-63 million euros will be allocated to households with an individual income greater than 20000 euros or an income greater than 40000 euros;
-Allocate 30 million euros for professional farmers and special status farmers.
Applicants who join the program can install photovoltaic systems on the roof or roof of buildings (including canopies, terraces, facades, sunshades, and sheds), ancillary areas of buildings, agricultural land (such as warehouses and parking lots), or on the ground.
The purpose of this subsidy plan is to fully cover the user's battery costs as well as the development and installation costs of photovoltaic systems. Families will be forced to install photovoltaic stations with batteries, while farmers can choose to install photovoltaic stations with or without batteries. The maximum installed power of the photovoltaic power station to be subsidized is 10.8kW.
