France's new pv installed capacity reached 1GW in the first quarter of 2024!
According to data released by the French Ministry of Energy Transition, France installed 1GW of photovoltaic systems in the first quarter (Q1) of 2024, an increase of 66% compared with the same period last year, setting a new quarterly installation record. The cumulative installed capacity of photovoltaic systems in France has reached 21.1GW so far.
The regions with the highest installed capacity of photovoltaic systems in France are still Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, New Aquitaine and Occitanie. The photovoltaic systems installed in these regions account for 47% of France's new photovoltaic system installed capacity in the first quarter of this year and 53% of the country's total installed capacity of photovoltaic systems.
Although large photovoltaic systems with an installed capacity of more than 250kW accounted for one-third of the new photovoltaic system installed capacity in the first quarter of this year, it cannot be ignored that small residential rooftop photovoltaic systems below 9kW also accounted for 20% of the new installed capacity.
