Siemens supports Australia's 5 GW Green Hydrogen Program

Western Australia announced a large-scale green hydrogen production project, and Siemens has become a technology partner. The area is touted as the region with the greatest potential for solar and wind power generation in Australia.

Murchison represents the second largest green hydrogen project in Australia's development.

Western Australia has announced a large-scale clean energy project to produce up to 5 GW of solar and wind power for green hydrogen. In an important early milestone, the Australian Hydrogen Renewable Energy Company and Siemens worked together to deploy the latter's Silyzer cell in the Murchison project.

Located in the northern part of the state's midwestern coastal town of Kalbarri, the location has been identified as one of Australia's best solar and wind energy combinations by a study conducted by American engineering multinational AECOM.

“We believe that the location of the Murchison Renewable Hydrogen Project is the best location for the combined use of solar and wind energy in Australia, making it one of the most cost-effective locations for producing clean energy,” said Executive Chairman of the Australian Hydrogen Renewable Energy Said, Cali. “We also believe that the project will make a significant contribution to national, state and local targets for new investments, new jobs, renewable energy and new export markets.”

Siemens welcomes Australia's attention to hydrogen and points out that Europe and Asia want the country to become a potential hydrogen giant. Jeff Connolly, CEO of Siemens Australia Pacific, said: “As long as we seize the opportunity quickly, Australia has the potential to have no hydrogen production and exports in any other country in the world.” “Exciting Yes, strong bipartisan leadership has recently gained at both the federal and state levels, which is important in terms of hydrogen."

This year, the Western Australian Government launched a strategy to set the route for future renewable hydrogen, with a focus on four strategic investment areas: exports, use of renewable hydrogen in remote applications, incorporation into natural gas networks, and in transit. use. To support field projects, the Authority established a $10 million ($6.74 million) renewable hydrogen fund last month and provided cash for feasibility studies and demonstration or capital projects to help promote further private investment.

The proposed new 5 GW green hydrogen facility has received a good initial response. Hydrogen Renewable Energy Australia has had preliminary discussions with Western Australia and the central government's main representatives, Northampton County Council, Nanda Aboriginal Corporation and several other local stakeholders.

The use of solar energy is the most popular green project recently. As a maintainer of Green Earth, Bluesun has been promoting the use of photovoltaic systems to reduce environmental pollution caused by coal power generation. Among them, 5kw on grid solar system, 10kw off grid solar system, 5kw hybrid solar system is the most suitable project for small family roofs.
