The total amount exceeds US $12.3 billion! Brazil imports 17.8GW of PV modules in 2022
According to a survey report on distributed photovoltaic systems released recently by the Brazilian consulting agency Greener, Brazil imported 17.8 GW of photovoltaic modules in 2022, with a purchase amount of more than BRL 64 billion (US $12.3 billion).
Jingke Energy was the largest PV module supplier in Brazil last year, with a supply of 3065MW. The main PV module suppliers are Ates (2340MW), Longji (1830MW), Trina Solar (1802MW), Oriental Risheng (1480MW) and Jingao (1101MW).
Greener surveyed and counted 71 PV module manufacturers supplied to the Brazilian PV market in 2022, but the 10 manufacturers with the highest delivery volume accounted for 81% of the market share.
Brazil installed nearly 10GW of photovoltaic systems in 2022. The cumulative installed capacity of photovoltaic systems in the country exceeded 25GW, accounting for 11.6% of the total power generation. The cumulative installed capacity of photovoltaic system of public utility scale installed in Brazil is 7.8GW.
According to the data released by ABSolar, the installed capacity of photovoltaic systems installed in Brazil has increased by an average of 1GW per month since July 2022. By July 2022, the cumulative installed capacity of photovoltaic system in the country was 16.4GW, but by the end of 2022, it had reached 25GW.
