India installs over 72GW of solar energy
As of October 31, 2023, India's cumulative solar installed capacity has reached 72.02 GW. According to data from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), grid connected rooftop solar systems account for 15.38% of all installed capacity.
According to the website of MNRE in India, as of October 31, 2023, the country has installed a solar power generation capacity of 72018 MW.
Among them, 55.71 GW is for ground solar power plants, 11.08 GW is for grid connected solar roof arrays, 2.55 GW is for solar hybrid projects, and 2.68 GW is for non grid connected solar energy.
Rajasthan has 25% of the country's photovoltaic installations (18089 MW), by Gujarat (10,418 MW) and Karnataka (9347 MW).
Gujarat has a leading rooftop solar power generation capacity, accounting for 26% (2898 MW) of 11.08 GW of rooftop solar projects in India.
