Laser cutting method was used to cut the standard batteries into the same two half-pieces along the direction perpendicular to the main grid of the batteries and then weld them in series.
Because the voltage of solar crystalline silicon cell is independent of area, and the power is proportional to area, the voltage of half cell is unchanged, the power is halved and the current is halved compared with the whole cell.
In order to ensure the same output voltage and current as the conventional components, the half-cell solar panels assembly is usually designed in series-parallel structure, which is equivalent to two small components connected in parallel.
As for the packaging technology, half-cell solar panels are the same as conventional components, which are packaged by toughened glass, EVA and backplane. And the junction box will be different, generally using three-body junction box.
Characteristic
Because of the reduction of internal circuit and internal friction, the packaging efficiency is improved; in addition, the working temperature of components is reduced, the probability of hot spot is reduced, and the reliability and safety of components are improved. In terms of shading, due to its unique design, it has better anti-shading performance than conventional components. Compared with traditional components, half-chip components are mainly manifested in three aspects:
1. Reduce fever and temperature loss
Because of the reduction of internal current and internal loss, the working temperature of components and junction boxes decreases, and the probability of hot spot and the risk of damage of the whole component are also greatly reduced. Under the outdoor working condition of the module, the temperature of the half-piece module itself is about 1.6 C lower than that of the conventional whole-piece module.
2. Reduce occlusion loss
With its special parallel-series structure, the half-cell solar panels assembly can increase the support and land use efficiency while reducing the power loss caused by shadow shading.
3. Improving packaging efficiency
Packaging loss of conventional components is generally greater than 1%, while half-cell solar panels are generally about 0.2%. Therefore, the half-chip module takes advantage of the low current characteristics to effectively improve the packaging efficiency of the module.
Developing trend
With the increasing pressure of power plant investors to access the Internet at a fair price, the demand for the cost of electricity consumption is becoming higher and higher. Compared with conventional components, the cost of half-cell solar panels in the manufacturing process mainly includes battery slicing, accessories and labor costs, equipment depreciation costs and so on. However, the power of the half-cell solar panels can be increased by 5W-10W or even higher than that of the same type of module. As component prices continue to fall, the overall system cost of half-cell solar panels is reduced.More and more people choose half-chip to form the 10 kW off-grid solar system and 20 kW on grid solar system they need.
According to the ITRPV market analysis of international institutions, in the next few years, half-cell solar panels will be released, from about 5% in 2018 to about 40% in 2028, with an average annual growth rate of about 10%.
