According to the Solar Energy Industry Association (SEIA), in the first quarter of 2019, China added 5.2 GW of solar photovoltaic installed units, the United States added 2.7 GW, India added 1.7 GW, and China, the United States and India continued to lead the global solar photovoltaic market.
By the end of March 2019, China's installed solar photovoltaic capacity has reached 179.7 GW, an increase of 28% year on year. But compared with 9.7 GW solar panel in the first quarter of 2018, the first quarter of 2019 dropped by nearly 40%.
For the second consecutive quarter, the United States has become the second largest solar market in the world after China, adding 2.7 GW solar panel of new photovoltaic installed units in the first quarter, an increase of more than 10% year-on-year, but a decrease of 37% compared with the fourth quarter of 2018.
According to Mercom India Research's latest report on the Indian solar market in the first quarter of 2019, solar photovoltaic installed capacity in India fell 49% in the first quarter of 2019 compared with the same period last year, while the installed capacity in the first quarter of 2018 was 3.4 GW solar panel.
Mercom India Research also predicts that India will increase solar power generation by about 9 GW in 2019, and that it will have to increase steadily over the next three years to achieve the goal of 100 GW of installed solar photovoltaic capacity by the end of 2022.Source: Cable network
