Analysis shows large-scale PV still cheapest electricity tech in Australia
Renewables remain Australia’s cheapest new electricity technology, the CSIRO Generation Costs report shows.

New analysis in the Generation Costs report shows the cost of large-scale solar has fallen 8% over the past decade, while onshore wind costs have risen 8%. Both technologies remain Australia’s cheapest new electricity technologies.

The report shows renewables, including transmission and storage costs, offer Australians the cheapest electricity, with costs ranging between A$83 ($55.25)/MWh and A$120/MWh by 2030.
