Installation of 6.26 GW of solar energy in Germany in the first half of the year
The Bundesnetzagentur, the German Federal Grid Management Agency, reported that the newly registered photovoltaic systems reached 1046.8 MW in June. In May 2023, an additional 1040 MW was added, and in June 2022, an additional 437 MW was added.
In the first half of this year, Germany's newly added photovoltaic installed capacity reached 6.26 GW, higher than approximately 2.36 GW in the same period last year. As of the end of June, the cumulative photovoltaic installed capacity was 73.8 GW, distributed among approximately 3.14 million photovoltaic systems.
Bavaria saw the largest increase this year, with 1.6 GW in the first half of the year, by North Rhine-Westphalia (971 MW) and Baden-Württemberg (nearly 833 MW).
