India: PV module capacity expected to exceed 150GW by 2026

According to the latest "India Solar PV Manufacturing Report 2024", India added 20.8GW of solar panel and 3.2GW of solar cell manufacturing capacity in 2023, bringing the country's total module and battery capacity to 64.5GW and 5.8GW respectively. By 2026, India's module capacity is expected to exceed 150GW, and battery capacity will reach. As for upstream polysilicon and silicon wafer capacity, the report predicts that it will not be online until 2025.

In terms of technology routes, monocrystalline PERC modules account for 67.5% of the total module capacity, polycrystalline modules account for 15.1%, TOPCon modules account for 12.3%, and thin-film modules account for 5.1%.
