Starting from 2024! Switzerland plans to cancel subsidies for small-scale household photovoltaics
According to foreign media reports, the Swiss Federal Ministry of Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC) recently released new amendments to the Energy Subsidy Regulations (EnFV) and other energy laws for public consultation. Stakeholders can provide suggestions and opinions on the adjustments in the plan before July 7th, and these regulations and bills will come into effect on January 1st, 2024. The department hopes to encourage the installation of large photovoltaic projects that can utilize all available roofs by reducing incentives for small photovoltaic systems.

According to this Energy Subsidy Regulation, subsidies for photovoltaic systems with installed capacity not exceeding 5kW must be cancelled from the subsidy plan for rooftop photovoltaic systems. The Swiss government currently pays a one-time payment of 200 Swiss francs (221 US dollars) per set of photovoltaic systems below 5kW, while photovoltaic systems with installed capacity ranging from 5kW to 30kW can receive subsidies of 380-440 Swiss francs. However, starting from 2024, this subsidy will be reduced by 20 Swiss francs.

The Swiss Federal Ministry of Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC) stated: "The reduction in subsidies for small-scale photovoltaic systems is much greater than for large-scale photovoltaic systems. This provides power for developers and users to install larger photovoltaic systems, and if possible, they will be installed on suitable rooftops

The Swiss government launched a "High Value One Time Pay" (HEIV) subsidy for photovoltaic systems on January 1st of this year, in addition to providing other incentive models.
