2.3GW! France plans to initiate bidding for photovoltaic projects in June
The French Photovoltaic Industry Association Enerplan and the French Renewable Energy Association (SER) recently stated that the French government plans to launch two bids in June this year to purchase 2.3GW of photovoltaic systems. These two industry organizations expressed in a joint statement that they welcome the French government's decision to launch a new round of bidding.

The French government stated that the 2.3GW photovoltaic system tendered includes a 1.5GW ground mounted photovoltaic power plant and an 800MW rooftop photovoltaic system. These photovoltaic systems will make up for the shortage of installed capacity in the previous round of bidding for large photovoltaic power plants. In the previous bidding, there were only 7 successful bidders, winning a total of 115MW photovoltaic systems. The final average bidding price is 82.23 euros/MWh (89.73 US dollars/MWh). Prior to this bidding, there was also a significant shortage of bids for ground photovoltaic power stations and rooftop photovoltaic systems.

These two industry organizations stated that the ongoing bidding activities of the French government will support the development of the country's photovoltaic industry.

Daniel Bour, Chairman of Enerplan, said, "This may take the French photovoltaic industry out of the shadow of the last bidding failure.
